I just came across this video of a toilet-themed restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan. This restaurant was featured on Time, but this’s an actual video of the place! The fast-growing chain is doing well enough to have 9 to 12 locations across Asia (couldn't read their web site to verify).
There are a lot of games and such that come out from Asia, which we would consider weird here in the US (or the "west" in general); but this, from what I gather, is weird everywhere --Weird enough that "it's supposed to shock and confuse the senses," says Modern Toilet manager Chen Min-kuang.

What I don't understand is the need to make it even more "eww" with the choice of words on their site. Take a closer look at the image above.


Customers eat from mini plastic toilet bowls. They wipe their hands and mouths using toilet rolls hung above their tables, which may be glass-topped jumbo bathtubs. Bon Appétit? ▣
